How long is the warranty on a used part?

One standard applies across the whole platform: 30 days from delivery to fit and test any part you buy on OEMRecycler.

What is covered if I pay the seller directly?

OEMRecycler can only refund money that went through the platform. On a direct payment to the seller we act as a mediator and can suspend the seller, but we cannot return funds we never held.

Can I take the part apart?

No. Every used part carries the seller's markings. Removing or damaging them, or disassembling the part, voids the warranty automatically.

Whether you are buying a complete engine or a single sensor, you have 30 days from delivery to inspect the part and have it fitted. If it turns out to be faulty or not what the listing described, it is exchanged or refunded.

You pay for the part at the OEMRecycler checkout. The platform holds that money for the whole 30-day warranty period and releases it to the seller only after your window has passed.

You arrange payment with the yard yourself — bank transfer, cash at pickup, or cash on delivery collected by the seller. The platform never holds that money and is not part of the transaction.

When the warranty is void

The seller's paint marks, tags or seals on the part have been removed, worn off or damaged.

The part was disassembled, modified or repaired by the buyer without the seller's agreement.

There is damage caused by incorrect installation, a collision, or careless use after delivery.

Inspect before you sign. If the part arrives damaged, note it on the delivery receipt before signing and open a claim with the carrier straight away. A clean signature makes a freight claim almost impossible.

Have it fitted by a shop. On engines, transmissions and electronics a seller may ask for a written diagnosis from the shop that installed the part before accepting a claim.

Document the fault. Photograph or film the problem before removing any markings or attempting a repair — after that the warranty is gone.

Frequently asked questions

When do the 30 days start?

The warranty period starts the day after the part is delivered — the delivery date on the carrier's tracking, or the day you collected it if you picked the part up in person.

The part is fine, but my shop ordered the wrong one. Can I return it?

Yes, within the 30-day window — but this is a return, not a warranty claim. A 20% restocking fee applies and shipping both ways is on you. Some sellers are more flexible; their terms are shown on the listing.

What if the seller refuses to accept a faulty part?

If you paid through the site, contact support. We review the evidence and, where the claim holds up, refund you from the money we are holding. If you paid directly to the seller, we can act as a mediator and remove the seller from the platform, but we cannot return funds that never passed through us.
